Titleist expands its wedge lineup with the new Vokey SM11 series, designed for consistent control, varied flight, and extensive options.
With the Vokey Design SM11 wedges, Titleist introduces a new generation of wedges. These models are engineered to provide consistent ball contact, flight behavior, and spin across all lofts. All variations within a loft are tuned identically, regardless of sole design. The new wedges are now available for fittings and will be launched worldwide in golf retailers starting February 20.
Titleist Launches Vokey Design SM11 Wedges
A key feature of the SM11 series is the wide range of available options. The collection includes 27 combinations of loft, bounce, and grind spread across six sole shapes. New additions include a 44-degree wedge for finer short game gapping and extra K-Grind variants with adjusted bounce, covering a broad spectrum of playing styles and set configurations.
Titleist employs a consistent approach to flight calibration with the SM11 wedges. Within each loft, the center of gravity is identically positioned across all sole types, ensuring flight characteristics remain unchanged when players select different grinds during fitting. The goal is uniform distance and flight control across all variants.
Consistent Flight and Precision Across the Loft Range
Throughout the loft range, the center of gravity is graduated. Lower lofts from 44 to 52 degrees are designed to mirror the flight of irons. Higher lofts at 58 and 60 degrees are tuned for slightly lower ball trajectories, with the 54 and 56-degree models positioned between these ranges to distinguish each wedge clearly within a set.
The faces of the SM11 wedges have also been refined. Different groove shapes are applied depending on loft, with lower lofts optimized for full-swing shots and higher lofts tailored to enhance ball contact on shorter and more challenging shots around the green. Additionally, the groove volume has been increased compared to the previous model.
A new face texture aligned with the strike direction complements the grooves, influencing ball contact especially on short shots near the green. The grooves in the impact zone are heat-treated to maintain their shape over time. All faces undergo thorough inspection before the wedges are shipped.
Wide Selection and Customization Options
The Vokey Design SM11 wedges are offered in lofts from 44 to 60 degrees and are available for both right- and left-handed players. Finish options include Tour Chrome, Nickel, Jet Black, and a Raw Finish as a custom option. They come with a variety of steel and graphite shafts and the Titleist Universal 360 grip.
