Titleist expands its wedge lineup with the new Vokey SM11 series, designed for consistent control, varied flight, and many options.
The Vokey Design SM11 Wedges introduce a new generation of wedges from Titleist. These models are engineered to maintain consistent ball contact, flight, and spin across all lofts. Within a given loft, all variants are identically tuned, regardless of sole shape. The new wedges are now available for fitting and will be sold worldwide in golf retailers starting February 20.
Titleist Launches the Vokey Design SM11 Wedges
A key feature of the SM11 series is the extensive range of options. The lineup includes 27 combinations of loft, bounce, and grind across six sole configurations. New additions include a 44-degree wedge for finer short game precision and additional K-Grind variants with adjusted bounce, covering a broad spectrum of playing styles and set compositions.
Titleist applies a uniform approach to the flight tuning of the SM11 wedges. Within each loft, the center of gravity is positioned identically across all sole types, ensuring flight characteristics remain consistent when switching grinds during fitting. The aim is to achieve steady distance and flight control across all variants.
Consistent Flight and Spin Across the Loft Spectrum
The center of gravity is graduated over the entire loft range. Lower lofts from 44 to 52 degrees are designed to complement iron flight patterns. Higher lofts of 58 and 60 degrees are tuned for a slightly lower ball flight, while 54 and 56-degree models sit between these ranges. This gradation helps wedges in a set to distinctly perform their roles.
The SM11 wedge faces have also been refined. Different groove shapes are deployed depending on loft. Lower lofts feature grooves optimized for full swings, while higher lofts use grooves that enhance ball contact on shorter shots and more challenging lies. Groove volume is increased compared to the predecessor model.
Design and Finish Options
The face includes a new directional texture oriented along the swing path, affecting ball-to-face contact on short shots around the green. The grooves in the strike area are heat-treated to maintain shape durability over time. All wedge faces undergo thorough quality control before shipment.
The Vokey Design SM11 wedges come in lofts ranging from 44 to 60 degrees, available for right- and left-handed players. Finish options include Tour Chrome, Nickel, and Jet Black, with Raw Finish available as a custom option. Various steel and graphite shafts are offered, paired with the Titleist Universal 360 grip.
