Titleist expands its wedge lineup with the Vokey SM11 series, designed for consistent control, varied ball flight, and a broad selection of options.
Titleist launches a new generation of wedges with the Vokey Design SM11 series. These models are engineered to maintain consistent ball contact, flight behavior, and spin across all lofts. Within each loft, all variations are identically calibrated regardless of sole shape choice. The new wedges are now available for fittings and will be globally released in golf retail starting February 20.
Titleist Introduces the Vokey Design SM11 Wedges
A key feature of the SM11 line is its extensive range of options, including 27 combinations of loft, bounce, and grind across six sole configurations. New additions include a 44-degree wedge for finer short game adjustments and extra K-Grind variants with modified bounce. This variety covers a wide spectrum of playing styles and set compositions.
Titleist adopts a uniform approach to ball flight tuning with the SM11 wedges. The center of gravity is positioned consistently across all sole types within each loft, ensuring flight characteristics remain unchanged if a player selects a different grind during fitting. The goal is stable distance and flight control across all variants.
The center of gravity is stepped throughout the loft range. Lower lofts from 44 to 52 degrees are designed to align with the flight of irons, while 58 and 60-degree lofts are tuned for a slightly lower ball flight. Models at 54 and 56 degrees fall between these extremes, helping to differentiate the wedges within a set.
Enhanced Grooves and Finishes for Optimal Performance
The face grooves of SM11 wedges are adjusted based on loft, with different groove shapes for lower lofts suited for full swings, and higher lofts optimized for short shots and challenging lies. Groove volume is increased from the previous model. A new grain-aligned texture on the face improves contact during short shots around the green. Grooves in the hitting area are heat-treated to retain their shape longer, and all faces undergo full inspection before shipment.
The Vokey Design SM11 wedges are offered in lofts from 44 to 60 degrees, available for right- and left-handed players. Finish options include Tour Chrome, Nickel, and Jet Black, with a Raw Finish available as a custom option. The wedges come equipped with various steel and graphite shafts and the Titleist Universal 360 grip.
