With the new Titleist Vokey SM11 wedges, Titleist expands its wedge lineup focusing on consistent control, varied flight, and numerous options.
Titleist introduces the next generation of their wedges with the Vokey Design SM11 series. These models are designed to maintain consistent ball contact, flight behavior, and spin across all lofts. Each loft features uniformly calibrated variants, regardless of the sole grind chosen. Available immediately for fittings, the SM11 wedges will be globally released in golf stores starting February 20.
Titleist Launches Vokey Design SM11 Wedges
A key feature of the SM11 series is its extensive variety. The lineup offers 27 combinations of lofts, bounce, and grinds across six sole shapes. New additions include a 44-degree wedge for finer short-game gap control and additional K-Grind variants with adjusted bounce, catering to a broad spectrum of playing styles and set configurations.
In terms of flight trajectory tuning, Titleist adopts a uniform approach with the SM11 wedges. For each loft, the center of gravity is identically positioned across all sole grinds so that the flight characteristics remain stable, regardless of grind selection during fitting. The goal is consistent distance and flight control over all versions.
Optimized Flight and Spin Control Across Lofts
The center of gravity varies progressively over the loft range. Lower lofts from 44 to 52 degrees are engineered to align with iron flight patterns. Higher lofts of 58 and 60 degrees produce a slightly flatter ball flight, with the 54 and 56-degree models positioned in between, helping sets deliver clear loft distinctions.
The wedge faces are also refined. Different groove patterns are applied dependent on loft: lower lofts have grooves optimized for full swings, while higher lofts feature grooves that enhance short shots and those from challenging lies. Groove volume is increased versus the previous model for improved performance.
Adding to the face design is a new texture aligned with the swing path that enhances ball contact on delicate shots around the green. The grooves are heat-treated to preserve their shape longer. Every wedge face undergoes complete quality control before delivery.
Available Options and Finishes
The Vokey Design SM11 wedges are offered in lofts ranging 44 to 60 degrees for both right- and left-handed players. Finish options include Tour Chrome, Nickel, and Jet Black, with a Raw finish available as a custom choice. Various steel and graphite shafts can be paired with the Titleist Universal 360 grip to complete each setup.
