Titleist expands its wedge lineup with the Vokey SM11 series, focusing on consistent control, flight, and a variety of options.
Titleist introduces the new generation of its wedges with the Vokey Design SM11 Wedges. These models are designed to maintain consistent ball contact, flight behavior, and spin across all lofts. Within each loft, all variants are uniformly tuned regardless of the sole grind chosen. The new wedges are now available for fittings and will be available worldwide in golf specialty stores starting February 20th.
Titleist Launches the Vokey Design SM11 Wedges
A key feature of the SM11 series is the wide range of options. The collection includes 27 combinations of loft, bounce, and grind across six sole shapes. New additions include a 44-degree wedge for finer short-game gapping and additional K-Grind variants with adjusted bounce. This range covers a broad spectrum of playing styles and set configurations.
Titleist follows a consistent approach to flight tuning with the SM11 wedges. Within each loft, the center of gravity is identically positioned across all sole grinds, ensuring flight characteristics remain consistent even if a player switches grinds during a fitting. The goal is stable distance and flight control across all variants.
Consistent Performance Across the Loft Spectrum
Across the entire loft spectrum, the center of gravity is graduated. The lower lofts from 44 to 52 degrees are designed to complement iron flight characteristics. The higher lofts of 58 and 60 degrees are tuned for a slightly lower ball flight. The 54 and 56-degree models fall between these ranges, helping to clearly differentiate wedges within a set.
The wedge faces of the SM11 have also been refined. Different groove shapes are used depending on loft. Lower lofts feature grooves optimized for full swings, while higher lofts have grooves designed to enhance ball contact on shorter shots and from challenging lies. Additionally, the groove volume has been increased compared to the previous model.
A new surface texture aligned with the swing direction further enhances contact between ball and face, particularly on short shots around the green. Grooves in the striking area are heat-treated to maintain their shape longer. All faces undergo full quality control before delivery.
