Titleist introduces the Pro V1x Left Dash, a golf ball designed for distance and controlled ball flight.
What began in 2018 as a specialty solution for a few long hitters on the PGA Tour has become a permanent part of the Titleist ball family: the Pro V1x Left Dash. Now, the model receives an update. According to Titleist, four years of development have gone into the new Pro V1x Left Dash, which will be available worldwide from January 21, 2026. The ball is designed to be faster, fly longer, and remain more stable in the wind, all validated by players on various professional tours.
Titleist’s New Release: New Core and Flight Characteristics
Inside the new Titleist Pro V1x Left Dash is a further developed high-gradient dual-core. According to the manufacturer, it is more elastic and delivers greater ball speed. This is supported by a thicker mantle layer that reduces spin on full shots. A thinner urethane cover simultaneously provides the necessary feel around the greens. For flight behavior, Titleist uses a new dimple design with 348 tetrahedrons, which the company says allows for a more consistent and efficient ball flight.
Development With Setbacks
The origins of the Left Dash date back to 2018. Initially developed as a specialty solution for selected touring professionals, the ball was tested and refined over several years. Development was not linear; early prototypes appeared on the PGA Tour in 2023 but were rejected due to excessively high spin with short irons. The feedback was clear – back to the drawing board. Titleist restarted, focusing on what made the Left Dash unique: low spin, long distance, and a stable, high ball flight. Consequently, the company positions the Left Dash within the Pro V1 family as an option between the Pro V1 and Pro V1x. The name ‘Left Dash’ refers to the side marking ‘–Pro V1x’ that distinguishes it from the other two models and has become well known in fitting circles. Internal fitting data from Titleist shows the model is already recommended for about six to eight percent of users.
