The new Scotty Cameron Phantom combines a soft feel with precise distance control and offers multiple configuration options.
Precision and Distance Control: The New Scotty Cameron Phantom Generation
With the 2026 Phantom series, Scotty Cameron elevates its mallet putters to a new level of performance. Developed with extensive feedback from tour players and with the highest manufacturing precision, Titleist presents a completely redesigned Phantom family characterized by a softer feel, more precise distance control, and a notable boost in confidence at setup.
The new lineup centers on three tour-inspired head shapes: Phantom 5, Phantom 7, and Phantom 9R. A total of nine model, shaft, and hosel combinations ensure optimal fit for various player profiles and putting strokes. The result is the most versatile Phantom generation yet.
New Core: Studio Carbon Steel and Maximum Customization
All 2026 Phantom mallets feature a full-face Studio Carbon Steel (SCS) insert. The new chain-link milling reduces contact points between the face and the ball, delivering a particularly soft sound, a short impact tone, and sensitive feedback without any loss of ball speed. The increased carbon content significantly dampens vibrations compared to previous metal inserts.
Additionally, Scotty Cameron expands the shaft and hosel options: Plumbing and Jet Neck, Mid- and Double-Bend shafts, and for the first time, the Onset-Center (OC) low-torque configuration. The new Phantom 5 OC especially targets players with a straight, square putting stroke seeking minimal shaft torque. The Phantom 7’s new Double-Bend shafts offer a stronger face-balanced feel and a changed look.
Tour-Inspired Design for More Stability at Setup
Subtle but crucial design adjustments define the new Phantom series. Higher faces and modified crowns create a smoother radius on the topline and improve visual alignment.
The sole construction has also been revised: a flatter sole with a larger contact area makes it easier to set the putter down. The putter rests more stably on the ground regardless of hand position or setup, providing a clear advantage for consistency and repeatability.
The modified Jet Neck hosel on the .5 models is visually subtler, longer, yet retains the same offset and toe flow as the previous generation.
