The new Scotty Cameron Phantom putters combine a soft feel with precise distance control and multiple configuration options.
Precision and Distance Control: The New Scotty Cameron Phantom Generation
With the 2026 Phantom series, Scotty Cameron elevates its mallet putters to a new performance level. Developed with extensive tour player feedback and the highest manufacturing precision, Titleist presents a fully redesigned Phantom family characterized by a softer feel, more precise distance control, and a noticeable boost in confidence at setup.
At the core of the new line are three tour-inspired head shapes: Phantom 5, Phantom 7, and Phantom 9R. A total of nine model, shaft, and hosel combinations ensure optimal fit for a wide range of player profiles and putting strokes. The result is the most versatile Phantom generation yet.
New Core: Studio Carbon Steel and Maximum Configurability
All 2026 Phantom mallets feature a full-face Studio Carbon Steel (SCS) insert. The new chain-link milling pattern reduces contact points between the face and ball, delivering a particularly soft sound, sharp impact feel, and sensitive feedback without sacrificing ball speed. The increased carbon content significantly dampens vibrations compared to previous metal inserts.
Additionally, Scotty Cameron expands the selection of shaft and hosel options: Plumbing and Jet Neck, mid- and double-bend, as well as for the first time the Onset-Center (OC) Low-Torque configuration. Notably, the new Phantom 5 OC targets players with a straight, square putting stroke seeking minimal shaft torque. The new double-bend shafts in the Phantom 7 offer a stronger face-balanced feel and a revised appearance.
Tour-Inspired Design for Enhanced Setup Stability
Subtle but important design refinements define the new Phantom series. Higher faces and modified crowns create a smoother topline radius and improve visual alignment.
The sole construction has also been revised: a flatter sole with a larger bearing surface makes it easier to set the putter down. The putter sits more stably on the ground, regardless of hand position or setup, providing a clear advantage for consistency and repeatability.
The modified Jet Neck hosel on the .5 models appears more subtle, is longer designed, and still delivers the same offset and toe flow as the previous generation.
Model Overview: Three Shapes, Many Options
Phantom 5
The classic mallet: compact, modern, and proven on professional tours for years. The new Phantom 5 includes a single alignment line and is available for the first time in the OC low-torque design.
Models: Phantom 5, 5.2, 5.5, 5 OC
Phantom 7
Angular wingback design with extended sole and rail-style alignment aid. Compared to the Phantom 5, the Phantom 7 has a deeper rear bearing surface. New for 2026: the double-bend shaft for a stronger face-balanced feel.
