Cobra introduces the new OPTM Drivers, setting new standards for precision and accuracy with four innovative clubs.
Cobra kicks off 2026 with a new line of drivers. The OPTM driver family marks a new chapter in driver design, focusing not only on maximum forgiveness but emphasizing directional stability of the clubhead. This is achieved through the innovative POI (Point of Inertia) technology, which targets an often overlooked measure of precision and aims to significantly reduce shot dispersion.
Cobra OPTM Drivers: A New Approach to Directional Stability
The OPTM driver family introduces a new generation of drivers that prioritize directional stability of the clubhead at impact over just distance and forgiveness. The newly developed POI technology measures the clubhead’s diagonal and three-dimensional movement across all axes, helping create more consistent drives.
POI Technology Complements Traditional MOI
While a high MOI (Moment of Inertia) has long been the key design focus to resist twisting on off-center hits along horizontal and vertical axes, POI adds another dimension by measuring complex rotations diagonally and in 3D. A low POI reduces unwanted lateral deviation, with Cobra claiming up to 23% less shot dispersion.
AI-Optimized Design and Weighting for Enhanced Stability
All OPTM models feature AI-optimized clubhead shapes and adaptive weighting to keep POI low. The rounder heads position the center of gravity closer to the geometric center, while strategically placed external weights minimize rotational movement at impact. The goal is to combine high MOI stability with enhanced directional accuracy through low POI.
Four Models Tailored to Player Types
The OPTM driver family includes four models: the OPTM LS for high swing speeds and low handicaps offering low spin and max ball speed; the OPTM X as a versatile option with neutral ball flight; the OPTM MAX-K delivering maximum forgiveness with high MOI; and the OPTM MAX-D geared for slice correction and higher launch. All feature POI technology, a multi-material construction with carbon crown, titanium frame, and H.O.T. Face.
