Cobra introduces the new OPTM drivers, setting new standards for precision and accuracy with four innovative models.
Cobra kicks off 2026 with a new line of drivers. The OPTM driver family marks a new chapter in driver design by focusing not just on maximum forgiveness but on directional stability during impact. This is enabled by the new POI (Point of Inertia) technology, which highlights a previously overlooked measure of precision and aims to reduce shot dispersion significantly.
Cobra OPTM Driver: A New Approach to Directional Stability
The OPTM driver family represents a new generation where maximum distance or forgiveness are not the sole focus. Instead, Cobra emphasizes the clubhead’s directional stability at impact. The innovative POI technology measures how much the clubhead moves diagonally and three-dimensionally across all axes. A lower POI reduces complex rotations, minimizing unwanted side spin and improving shot consistency by up to 23%.
AI-Driven Design and Weighting for Better Control
To achieve a low POI, Cobra applies AI-optimized clubhead shapes and adaptive weighting across all OPTM models. The rounded heads position the center of gravity closer to the geometric center, and strategically placed external weights further reduce rotational movements at impact. The design combines the high MOI’s (Moment of Inertia) stability with enhanced directional accuracy provided by a low POI.
Four Tailored Models with Advanced Customization
The OPTM family includes four models addressing different player types: OPTM LS targets high swing speeds and low handicaps, focusing on low spin and maximum ball speed. OPTM X offers versatile, neutral ball flight for a broad range of players. OPTM MAX-K emphasizes maximum forgiveness with high MOI, while OPTM MAX-D specializes in slice correction and higher launch. All benefit from POI technology along with a multi-material construction featuring a carbon crown, titanium frame, and H.O.T. Face. The FUTUREFIT33 hosel system allows 33 independent loft and lie settings, providing extensive adjustability. The OPTM drivers will launch in Europe on January 20, 2026, priced at 629 euros.
