Cobra KING Irons: Advanced Technology for Easier Golfing

Cobra expands the KING family with new KING and KING MAX irons, featuring advanced technology for easier play.

Cobra has expanded its KING family with the new KING and KING MAX irons. These modern irons combine innovative technologies for higher ball flight, increased distance, improved forgiveness, and a more stable strike feel. From a lower center of gravity to a flexible face and an optimized sole, the new models make the game easier, support controlled shots, and offer different options to deliver maximum performance on the green for every player type.

Cobra KING Irons: Game Improvement with Modern Technology

The new KING and KING MAX irons are targeted at mid- to high-handicap players. The focus is on technologies designed to simplify the game: higher ball launch, more distance, improved forgiveness, and an overall more stable strike feel.

Lower Center of Gravity for Higher Ball Flight

A key feature of the new irons is a 3D-printed medallion from Cobra’s premium 3DP series. Its delicate lattice structure saves weight which is redistributed within the clubhead. This lowers the center of gravity by about two millimeters, resulting in higher ball launch and steeper descent onto the green, enhancing control and stopping power, making it easier to hit greens.

More Speed with Consistent Feel

For distance, Cobra employs its 360 Speedshell face, allowing greater flexibility across the entire clubface for more consistent ball speeds, even on off-center hits. An 80-gram catapult weight housed in a vibration-damping polymer further supports this. The result is not only more consistent distance but also a solid, pleasant feel and balanced sound at impact.

Improved Turf Interaction with New Sole Design

The redesigned Skid Sole includes a pre-sanded leading edge with added bounce and a flatter mid-sole that reduces resistance at impact, improves turf interaction, and supports the low center of gravity in the clubhead.

Two Models for Different Player Types

The KING iron is aimed at players with swing speeds and handicaps around 10 to 20 seeking maximum speed and forgiveness. The larger KING MAX offers more offset, weaker lofts, and added stability on toe or heel strikes, ideal for players wanting high ball flight, draw tendencies, and maximum assistance.

Market Launch and Pricing

The new Cobra KING irons will be available in Europe starting February 3. The price for both models is 999 euros for a set of six irons, available with steel or graphite shafts.
