Cobra expands the KING family with new KING and KING MAX irons featuring advanced technology for easier play.
Cobra has expanded its KING family with the new KING and KING MAX irons. These modern irons combine innovative technologies to provide higher ball flight, added distance, improved forgiveness, and a more stable feel. From a lower center of gravity to a flexible face and an optimized sole, the new models make the game easier, support controlled shots, and offer different options to deliver maximum performance on the green for every type of player.
Cobra KING Irons: Game Improvement Through Modern Technology
With the new KING and KING MAX irons, Cobra extends its KING family with two models specifically aimed at mid- and high-handicap players. The focus is on technologies designed to simplify the game: higher launch, more distance, enhanced forgiveness, and an overall more stable feel.
Lower Center of Gravity for Higher Ball Flight
A key feature of the new irons is a 3D-printed medallion from Cobra’s premium 3DP series. The delicate lattice structure saves weight which is redistributed within the clubhead. This lowers the center of gravity by about two millimeters, directly impacting play: the ball launches higher and lands steeper on the green, improving control and stopping power, making greens easier to hit.
More Speed with Consistent Feel
Cobra also enhances distance with its 360 Speedshell face, offering increased flex across the entire face for consistent ball speeds even on off-center hits. This is supported by an 80-gram catapult weight housed in a vibration-damping polymer. The result is not only more consistent distance but also a solid, pleasant feel with balanced sound.
Improved Turf Interaction with New Sole Design
The updated Skid Sole design features a pre-sanded leading edge with added bounce and a flatter mid-sole, allowing the club to glide more cleanly through the turf. This reduces resistance at impact, improves turf interaction, and further supports the clubhead’s low center of gravity.
Two Models for Different Player Types
The two models differ in shape and specification. The KING iron targets players with higher swing speeds and handicaps around 10 to 20 seeking maximum speed and forgiveness. The larger KING MAX offers more offset, weaker lofts, and added stability on toe or heel strikes, ideal for players desiring higher ball flight, draw tendencies, and maximum assistance.
Market Launch and Pricing
The new Cobra KING irons will be available in Europe starting February 3rd. Both models are priced at 999 euros for a set of six irons with either steel or graphite shafts.
