Cobra expands its KING family with new KING and KING MAX irons featuring advanced technology for easier play.
Cobra has expanded its KING family with the new KING and KING MAX irons. These modern irons combine innovative technologies for higher ball flight, more distance, enhanced forgiveness, and a more stable feel. From a lower center of gravity to a flexible face and an optimized sole, the new models make the game easier, support controlled shots and offer different options to deliver maximum performance to every type of player on the green.
Cobra KING Irons: Game Improvement Through Modern Technology
With the new KING and KING MAX irons, Cobra targets mid- and high-handicap players. The focus is on technologies that simplify the game: higher ball launch, increased distance, improved forgiveness, and a more stable feel overall.
Lower Center of Gravity for Higher Ball Flight
A key feature of the new irons is a 3D-printed medallion from Cobra’s premium 3DP series. Its fine lattice structure saves weight that is redistributed within the clubhead, lowering the center of gravity by approximately two millimeters. This results in a higher ball launch and steeper descent on the green, improving control and stopping power, making greens easier to hit.
More Speed with Consistent Feel
For added distance, Cobra employs a 360 Speedshell face that increases flex across the entire face, maintaining ball speed even on off-center hits. This is supported by an 80-gram catapult weight housed in a vibration-damping polymer. The outcome is not only more consistent distance but also a solid, pleasant feel with balanced sound.
Improved Turf Interaction with New Sole
The redesigned Skid Sole features a pre-rounded leading edge with additional bounce and a flatter mid-sole that allows cleaner turf contact. This reduces resistance at impact, enhances turf interaction, and supports the clubhead’s low center of gravity.
Two Models for Different Player Types
The KING iron suits players with moderate swing speeds and handicaps around 10 to 20 seeking more speed and forgiveness. The larger KING MAX offers more offset, weaker lofts, and added stability on toe and heel strikes, making it ideal for players desiring higher ball flight, draw bias, and maximum support.
Release and Price
The new Cobra KING irons will be available in Europe from February 3. Both models retail for 999 Euros for a set of six irons with steel or graphite shafts.
