Cobra KING Irons: Advanced Technology for Easier Golf Play

Cobra expands the KING family with new KING and KING MAX irons featuring advanced technology for easier play.

Cobra has expanded its KING family with the new KING and KING MAX irons. These modern irons combine innovative technologies for higher ball flight, increased distance, improved forgiveness, and a more stable feel. From a lower center of gravity to a flexible face and an optimized sole, the new models simplify the game, support controlled shots, and offer different options to maximize performance on the green for every player type.

Cobra KING Irons: Game Improvement Through Modern Technology

With the new KING and KING MAX irons, Cobra targets mid and high handicap players. The focus is on technologies that make the game easier: higher launch, more distance, improved forgiveness, and a more stable feel.

Lower Center of Gravity for Higher Ball Flight

A key feature is a 3D-printed medallion from Cobra’s premium 3DP series. Its intricate lattice structure saves weight and redistributes it within the clubhead. This lowers the center of gravity by about two millimeters, resulting in a higher ball launch and steeper landing on the green, enhancing control and stopping power, and making greens easier to hit.

More Speed Without Losing Feel

For more distance, Cobra uses the 360 Speedshell face technology, which provides greater flex across the entire face and maintains consistent ball speeds even on off-center hits. This is supported by an 80-gram catapult weight housed in a vibration-damping polymer. The result is not only greater distance consistency but also a solid, pleasant feel and balanced sound.

Improved Turf Interaction with New Sole Design

The updated Skid Sole design, with a pre-grinded leading edge featuring extra bounce and a flatter mid-sole, enables the club to glide smoothly through the turf. This reduces resistance at impact, improves turf interaction, and supports the low center of gravity.

Two Models for Different Player Types

The KING iron suits players with some swing speed and handicaps around 10 to 20 seeking maximum speed and forgiveness. The larger KING MAX iron offers more offset, weaker lofts, and enhanced stability on toe and heel strikes, ideal for players desiring higher ball flight, draw tendencies, and maximum support.

Market Launch and Price

The new Cobra KING irons will be available in Europe from February 3. Both models are priced at 999 euros for a set of six irons with steel or graphite shafts.
