Cobra KING Irons: Advanced Technology for Easier Golf Play

Cobra expands its KING family with the new KING and KING MAX irons, featuring advanced technology for an easier playing experience.

Cobra extends its KING family with the new KING and KING MAX irons. These modern irons combine innovative technologies for higher ball flight, more distance, improved forgiveness, and a more stable feel. From a lower center of gravity to a flexible face and an optimized sole, the new models make the game easier, support controlled shots, and offer different options to provide every player type with maximum performance on the green.

Cobra KING Irons: Improving Play Through Modern Technology

With the new KING and KING MAX irons, Cobra expands its KING family with two models aimed specifically at mid- and high-handicap players. The focus is on technologies designed to make the game easier: higher launch, greater distance, improved forgiveness, and an overall more stable feel.

Lower Center of Gravity for Higher Ball Flight

A central element of the new irons is a 3D-printed medallion from Cobra’s premium 3DP series. The delicate lattice structure allows weight to be saved and redistributed in the clubhead. This lowers the center of gravity by about two millimeters, which directly affects play: the ball launches higher and lands steeper on the green, improving control and stopping power, making greens easier to hold.

More Speed with Consistent Feel

Cobra also relies on technology for distance. The 360 Speedshell face provides significantly more flex across the entire face, ensuring more consistent ball speeds even on off-center hits. This is supported by an 80-gram catapult weight housed in a vibration-damping polymer. The result is not only more consistent distance but also a solid, pleasant feel with balanced sound.

Improved Turf Interaction with New Sole Design

Another advantage comes from the revised Skid Sole design. The pre-sloped leading edge with additional bounce and a flatter mid-sole allow the club to glide cleaner through the turf, reducing resistance at impact, improving turf interaction, and further supporting the low center of gravity.

Two Models for Different Player Types

The two models differ in shape and specifications. The KING iron targets players with slightly higher swing speeds and handicaps around 10 to 20 who seek maximum speed and forgiveness. The KING MAX iron is larger, providing more offset, weaker lofts, and extra stability on off-center hits, making it suitable for players desiring high ball flight, draw tendencies, and maximum support.

Market Launch and Price

The new Cobra KING irons will be available in European retail on February 3rd. Both models are priced at 999 euros for a set of six irons with steel or graphite shafts.
