Cobra expands the KING family with new KING and KING MAX irons featuring advanced technology for easier play.
Cobra extends its KING family with the new KING and KING MAX irons. These modern irons combine innovative technologies for higher ball flight, more distance, improved forgiveness, and a more stable hitting feel. From a lower center of gravity to a flexible face and an optimized sole, the new models simplify the game, support controlled shots, and offer options to maximize performance for every player type on the green.
Cobra KING Irons: Game Improvement through Modern Technology
The new KING and KING MAX irons target mid- to high-handicap players. Key technologies aim to make the game easier: higher ball launch, more distance, enhanced forgiveness, and an overall more stable feel.
Lower Center of Gravity for Higher Ball Flight
A central feature of the new irons is a 3D-printed medallion from Cobra’s premium 3DP series. Its delicate lattice structure saves weight that is redistributed in the clubhead, lowering the center of gravity by about two millimeters. This results in a higher ball launch and steeper descent on the green, improving control and stopping power, facilitating easier greens approach shots.
Increased Speed with Consistent Feel
The 360 Speedshell face provides significantly more flexibility across the entire hitting surface, resulting in more consistent ball speeds, even on off-center hits. This is supported by an 80-gram catapult weight housed in a vibration-dampening polymer, delivering not only greater consistent distance but also a solid, pleasant feel and balanced sound.
Improved Turf Interaction with New Sole
The revised skid sole design features a pre-rounded leading edge with additional bounce and a flatter mid-sole, allowing the club to glide cleaner through the turf. This reduces resistance at impact, enhances turf contact, and supports the low center of gravity.
Two Models Tailored to Different Players
The KING iron suits players with swing speeds around handicaps 10 to 20 seeking maximum speed and forgiveness. The larger KING MAX offers more offset, weaker lofts, and added stability on toe or heel strikes, ideal for players who want higher ball flights, draw tendencies, and maximum support.
Market Launch and Pricing
The new Cobra KING irons will be available in Europe from February 3rd, priced at 999 Euros for a set of six irons with steel or graphite shafts.
