Cobra expands the KING family with new KING and KING MAX irons featuring advanced technology for an easier playing experience.
Cobra extends its KING family with the new KING and KING MAX irons. These modern irons combine innovative technologies for higher ball flight, more distance, improved forgiveness, and a more stable feel. From a lower center of gravity to a flexible face and an optimized sole, the new models make play easier, support controlled shots, and offer different options to deliver maximum performance on the green for every type of player.
Cobra KING Irons: Game Improvement through Modern Technology
With the new KING and KING MAX irons, Cobra targets mid- and high-handicap players. The focus lies on technologies designed to simplify the game: higher launch, more distance, enhanced forgiveness, and an overall more stable feel.
Lower Center of Gravity for Higher Ball Flight
A key element is a 3D-printed medallion from Cobra’s premium 3DP series. Its fine lattice structure saves weight which is redistributed within the clubhead. This lowers the center of gravity by about two millimeters, resulting in a higher launch and steeper descent on the green, improving control and stopping power, making hitting greens easier.
More Speed with Consistent Feel and Improved Turf Interaction
The 360 Speedshell face provides more flex across the entire face, ensuring more consistent ball speeds even on off-center hits. An 80-gram catapult weight housed in a vibration-damping polymer enhances distance and delivers a solid, pleasant feel with balanced sound. The redesigned Skid Sole with a pre-sanded leading edge and flatter mid-sole reduces turf resistance, improves contact, and supports the low center of gravity.
Two Models Tailored to Different Players
The KING iron suits players with slightly faster swing speeds and handicaps around 10 to 20 seeking speed and forgiveness. The larger KING MAX offers more offset, weaker lofts, and additional stability on toe and heel strikes, ideal for players desiring higher ball flight, draw tendencies, and maximum support.
Market Launch and Pricing
The new Cobra KING irons will be available in Europe starting February 3rd, priced at 999 euros for a set of six irons with steel or graphite shafts.
