Cobra KING Irons: Advanced Technology for Easier Golf Play

Cobra expands the KING family with new KING and KING MAX irons featuring advanced technology for easier play.

Cobra extends its KING family with the new KING and KING MAX irons. These modern irons combine innovative technologies to deliver higher ball flight, increased distance, enhanced forgiveness, and a more stable feel. From a lower center of gravity to a flexible face and optimized sole, the new models make the game easier, support controlled shots, and offer various options to provide every player type maximum performance on the green.

Cobra KING irons: Game improvement through modern technology

The new KING and KING MAX irons target mid- and high-handicap players. The focus is on technologies that simplify the game: higher ball launch, more distance, improved forgiveness, and a more stable strike feel.

Lower center of gravity for higher ball flight

A key feature is a 3D-printed medallion from Cobra’s premium 3DP series. Its delicate lattice structure saves weight and redistributes it within the clubhead, lowering the center of gravity by about two millimeters. This results in a higher ball launch with a steeper descent onto the green, improving control and stopping power which makes hitting greens easier.

More speed with consistent feel

Cobra also enhances distance with the 360 Speedshell face that provides more flex across the entire surface, ensuring more consistent ball speeds even on off-center hits. This is supported by an 80-gram Catapult weight housed in a vibration-damping polymer. The result is not just more consistent distance but also a solid, pleasant feel with balanced sound.

Improved turf interaction with new sole design

The redesigned Skid Sole includes a pre-rounded leading edge with additional bounce and a flatter mid-sole, allowing cleaner turf interaction. This reduces resistance at impact, improves turf contact, and further supports the low center of gravity.

Two models for different player types

The KING iron suits players with higher swing speeds and handicaps around 10 to 20 seeking maximum speed and forgiveness. The KING MAX iron is larger with more offset, weaker lofts, and increased stability on toe or heel strikes, ideal for players wanting high ball flight, draw tendencies, and maximum assistance.

Market launch and price

The new Cobra KING irons will be available in Europe from February 3rd, priced at 999 euros for a six-iron set with steel or graphite shafts.
