Cobra KING Irons: Advanced Technology for Easier Golf Play

Cobra expands its KING family with the new KING and KING MAX irons featuring advanced technology for an easier playing experience.

Cobra has expanded its KING family with the new KING and KING MAX irons. These modern irons combine innovative technologies for higher ball flight, increased distance, improved forgiveness, and a more stable feel. From a lower center of gravity to a flexible face and an optimized sole design, the new models make the game easier, support controlled shots, and offer different options to maximize performance on the greens for various player types.

Cobra KING Irons: Game Improvement through Advanced Technology

The new KING and KING MAX irons target mid- and high-handicap players, focusing on technologies that simplify the game: higher launch, more distance, enhanced forgiveness, and a generally more stable feel.

Lower Center of Gravity for Higher Ball Flight

A key element is a 3D-printed medallion from Cobra’s premium 3DP series. Its delicate lattice structure allows weight to be saved and redistributed in the clubhead, lowering the center of gravity by about two millimeters. This directly affects performance by producing a higher ball launch and steeper descent onto the green, improving control and stopping power to help players find greens more easily.

More Speed with Consistent Feel

Cobra also employs technology to increase distance. The 360 Speedshell face flexes more across the entire hitting area, providing more consistent ball speeds even on off-center hits. This is aided by an 80-gram catapult weight housed in a vibration-damping polymer, resulting in steady distance gains and a solid, pleasant feel with balanced sound.

Improved Turf Interaction with New Sole Design

The redesigned skid sole features a pre-ground leading edge with added bounce and a flatter mid-sole to ensure cleaner turf interaction. This reduces resistance at impact, improves ground contact, and complements the low center of gravity in the clubhead.

Two Models for Different Player Types

The KING iron is designed for players with slightly higher swing speeds and handicaps around 10 to 20 seeking maximum speed and forgiveness. The KING MAX is larger, with more offset, weaker lofts, and increased stability on heel and toe strikes, ideal for players who want higher ball flights, draw tendencies, and maximum support.

Release Date and Price

The new Cobra KING irons will be available starting February 3rd in Europe. The retail price is 999 euros for a set of six irons with steel or graphite shafts.
