Cobra expands the KING family with new KING and KING MAX irons featuring advanced technology for easier play.
Cobra has enhanced its KING family with the new KING and KING MAX irons. These modern irons combine innovative technologies for higher ball flight, greater distance, improved forgiveness, and a more stable feel. From a lower center of gravity and flexible face to an optimized sole, the new models simplify the game, support controlled shots, and offer options tailored to maximize performance for every player on the green.
Improved Play with Modern Technology in Cobra KING Irons
The new KING and KING MAX irons are designed specifically for mid to high handicap players. These models focus on technologies that make the game easier: higher ball launch, increased distance, enhanced forgiveness, and an overall more stable feel.
Lower Center of Gravity for Higher Ball Flight
A key element of these irons is a 3D-printed medallion from Cobra’s premium 3DP series. Its fine lattice structure saves weight that is redistributed in the clubhead, lowering the center of gravity by about two millimeters. This results in a higher ball launch and steeper landing on the green, improving control and stopping power, making greens easier to hit.
More Speed with Consistent Feel
For added distance, Cobra uses a 360 SpeedShell face that flexes significantly across the entire clubface, producing more consistent ball speeds even on off-center hits. This is supported by an 80-gram catapult weight housed in a vibration-damping polymer, resulting in not only more consistent distance but also a solid, pleasant feel and balanced sound.
Enhanced Turf Interaction with New Sole Design
The updated Skid Sole design features a pre-rounded leading edge with extra bounce and a flatter mid-sole, allowing the club to glide more smoothly through the turf. This reduces resistance at impact, improves turf interaction, and further supports the low center of gravity.
Two Distinct Models for Different Player Types
The KING iron suits players with moderate swing speeds and handicaps around 10 to 20 seeking speed and forgiveness. The KING MAX iron is larger with more offset, weaker lofts, and additional stability on toe or heel strikes, ideal for players who want higher ball flight, draw tendencies, and maximum support.
Availability and Pricing
The new Cobra KING irons will be available in European retail from February 3rd, priced at 999 euros for a set of six irons with steel or graphite shafts.
