Cobra expands the KING family with new KING and KING MAX irons featuring advanced technology for an easier playing experience.
Cobra expands its KING family with the new KING and KING MAX irons. These modern irons combine innovative technologies to provide higher ball flight, greater distance, improved forgiveness, and a more stable feel. From a lower center of gravity to a flexible face and an optimized sole, the new models make the game easier, support controlled shots, and offer different options to deliver maximum performance on the green for every type of player.
Cobra KING Irons: Game Improvement Through Modern Technology
The new KING and KING MAX irons target mid- and high-handicap players. The focus is on technologies that simplify the game: higher launch, more distance, enhanced forgiveness, and overall stable feel.
Lowered Center of Gravity for Higher Ball Flight
A key element of the new irons is a 3D-printed medallion from Cobra’s premium 3DP series. The delicate lattice structure saves weight and redistributes it in the clubhead. This lowers the center of gravity by about two millimeters, resulting in a higher ball launch and steeper descent on the green, improving control and stopping power to help players hit greens more easily.
Improved Speed and Feel
Cobra uses technical innovations for added distance. The 360 Speedshell face offers more flex across the entire hitting area, delivering more consistent ball speeds even on off-center hits. An 80-gram catapult weight, mounted in a vibration-damping polymer, supports this by providing consistent distance along with a solid, pleasant feel and balanced sound.
Improved Turf Interaction with New Sole Design
The redesigned Skid Sole with a pre-rounded leading edge and added bounce, plus a flatter mid-sole, enables the club to glide more cleanly through turf. This reduces resistance at impact, improves turf interaction, and complements the low center of gravity in the clubhead.
Two Models for Different Player Types
The KING iron suits players with slightly higher swing speeds and handicaps around 10 to 20, seeking maximum speed and forgiveness. The KING MAX is larger with more offset, weaker lofts, and added stability on toe and heel strikes, ideal for players wanting high ball flight, draw bias, and max support.
Market Launch and Price
The new Cobra KING irons will be available in European retail from February 3rd. Both models are priced at 999 euros for a set of six irons with steel or graphite shafts.
