Cobra expands the KING family with new KING and KING MAX irons featuring advanced technology for an easier playing experience.
Cobra extends its KING family with the new KING and KING MAX irons, combining innovative technologies to provide higher ball flight, greater distance, improved forgiveness, and a more stable feel at impact. From a lower center of gravity to a flexible face and an optimized sole, the new models make the game easier, support controlled shots, and offer different options to deliver maximum performance for every player type on the green.
Cobra KING Irons: Enhancing Play with Modern Technology
The new KING and KING MAX irons are designed specifically for mid- and high-handicap players, focusing on technologies that simplify the game: higher launch, more distance, increased forgiveness, and a more stable feel overall.
Lower Center of Gravity for Higher Ball Flight
A key feature of the new irons is a 3D-printed medallion from Cobra’s premium 3DP series. Its delicate lattice structure allows precise weight savings and redistribution within the clubhead, lowering the center of gravity by about two millimeters. This directly affects play: the ball launches higher and descends steeper onto the green, enhancing control and stopping power, making it easier to hit greens.
More Speed with Consistent Feel
Cobra further enhances distance with the 360 Speedshell face, which offers significantly more flex across the entire face for more consistent ball speeds, even on off-center hits. This is supported by an 80-gram catapult weight housed in a vibration-damping polymer, resulting in more reliable distance alongside a solid, pleasant impact feel and balanced sound.
Improved Turf Interaction with New Sole Design
The updated Skid Sole design features a pre-sanded leading edge with extra bounce and a flatter mid-sole, helping the club glide smoothly through turf. This reduces resistance at impact, improves ground contact, and supports the low center of gravity of the clubhead.
Two Models Catering to Different Player Types
The KING iron targets players with higher swing speeds and handicaps around 10 to 20 seeking maximum speed and forgiveness. The KING MAX is larger, offers more offset, weaker lofts, and extra stability on toe and heel strikes, ideal for players desiring a high ball flight, draw tendencies, and maximum support.
Market Release and Pricing
The new Cobra KING irons will be available in European retail from February 3rd. Both models are priced at €999 for a set of six irons with steel or graphite shafts.
