Cobra expands the KING family with new KING and KING MAX irons featuring advanced technology for easier play.
Cobra has expanded its KING family with the new KING and KING MAX irons. These modern clubs combine innovative technologies to deliver higher ball flight, increased distance, improved forgiveness, and a more stable feel. From a lower center of gravity to a flexible face and optimized sole design, the new models simplify the game, support controlled shots, and offer options to maximize performance for every player type on the green.
Cobra KING Irons: Game Improvement Through Advanced Technology
With the new KING and KING MAX irons, Cobra targets mid- to high-handicap players, focusing on technologies that make the game easier: higher launch, more length, improved forgiveness, and a more stable impact feel.
Lower Center of Gravity for Higher Ball Flight
A key feature is a 3D-printed medallion from Cobra’s premium 3DP series. The intricate lattice structure allows weight savings and redistribution within the clubhead, lowering the center of gravity by about two millimeters. This results in higher ball launch and a steeper descent on the green, enhancing control and spin for easier greens approaches.
Faster Ball Speeds with Consistent Feel
Cobra’s 360 Speedshell face increases flex across the entire hitting area, maintaining ball speed even on off-center hits. An 80-gram catapult weight housed in a vibration-damping polymer adds to consistent distance and delivers a solid, pleasant feel with balanced sound.
Improved Turf Interaction with Redesigned Sole
The redesigned Skid Sole features a pre-sanded leading edge with extra bounce and a flatter mid-sole, helping the club glide through turf more smoothly. This reduces resistance at impact, improves turf interaction, and supports the clubhead’s low center of gravity.
Two Models Tailored to Different Players
The KING iron is designed for players with slightly faster swing speeds and handicaps around 10 to 20, seeking maximum speed and forgiveness. The larger KING MAX offers more offset, weaker lofts, and added stability on heel and toe strikes, ideal for players wanting higher ball flight, draw tendencies, and maximum assistance.
Market Launch and Price
The new Cobra KING irons will be available in Europe starting February 3rd. Both models are priced at 999 euros for a set of six irons with steel or graphite shafts.
