Cobra expands the KING family with new KING and KING MAX irons featuring advanced technology for easier play.
Cobra has expanded its KING family with the new KING and KING MAX irons. These modern irons combine innovative technologies for higher ball flight, more distance, improved forgiveness, and a more stable feel at impact. From a lower center of gravity to a flexible face and an optimized sole, the new models make the game easier, support controlled shots, and offer different options to provide every player type with maximum performance on the green.
Cobra KING Irons: Game Improvement Through Modern Technology
The new KING and KING MAX irons target mid- to high-handicap players. Their focus lies on technologies that simplify the game: higher ball launch, more distance, improved forgiveness, and an overall more stable feel.
Lower Center of Gravity for Higher Ball Flight
A key element is a 3D-printed medallion from Cobra’s premium 3DP series. The delicate lattice structure saves weight and redistributes it in the clubhead, lowering the center of gravity by about two millimeters. This results in a higher ball launch and steeper descent onto the green, improving control, stopping power, and green-hitting ease.
More Speed with Consistent Feel
The 360 Speedshell face provides more flex across the entire face for consistent ball speeds, even on off-center hits. Supported by an 80-gram catapult weight housed in a vibration-damping polymer, this technology delivers not only more consistent distance but also a solid, pleasant feel with balanced sound.
Improved Turf Interaction with New Sole
The redesigned Skid Sole has a pre-sanded leading edge with additional bounce and a flatter midsole, allowing the club to glide cleanly through the turf. This reduces resistance at impact, improves turf interaction, and complements the lower center of gravity in the clubhead.
Two Models for Different Player Types
The KING iron is aimed at players with faster swing speeds and handicaps around 10 to 20 seeking maximum speed and forgiveness. The larger KING MAX iron offers more offset, weaker lofts, and extra stability on toe or heel strikes, making it ideal for players desiring higher ball flight, draw tendencies, and maximum support.
Release and Pricing
The new Cobra KING irons will be available in European retail from February 3rd. Both models are priced at 999 euros for a set of six irons with steel or graphite shafts.
