At the Mitsubishi Electric Championship on the Champions Tour held at the Hualalai Golf Course in Kaʻūpūlehu on the Hawaiian volcanic island of Hawaii, American Stewart Cink emerged victorious and took home the trophy. The two German starters Bernhard Langer and Alex Cejka both played their way near the Top 10 on the leaderboard after three rounds.
Champions Tour: Stewart Cink dominates in Hawaii
Stewart Cink started on Thursday with a 66, placing himself early in the front section of the leaderboard. Although he took a bogey on hole 16 in his second round, he secured a fantastic 63 on Friday with a total of ten birdies. Cink finished strong with a 64 in the final round and a total of 23 under par, shining at the top of the leaderboard.
Following him on the leaderboard was Argentine Ángel Cabrera, who impressed with an eagle in the final round and finished with five birdies and one bogey for a 66. Cabrera became especially dangerous on the second day and confidently moved up to third place on the leaderboard. With an outstanding 62 on Friday, the 56-year-old from Córdoba Province played a flawless front nine with five birdies and an eagle to start the day. On the back nine, Cabrera again scored five birdies but had two bogeys on holes 11 and 17. Despite trailing leader Stewart Cink by three strokes, Cabrera secured second place two strokes ahead of South African Retief Goosen.

Bernhard Langer steadily moved into the Top 10 during the tournament in Hawaii. He started with a 70 on Thursday, placing him mid-field. On the second day, Langer made seven birdies and one eagle with only a single bogey on hole 15. His solid 64 round, eight under par, gave him confidence going into the final round.
