Bernhard Langer makes Top 10, Alex Cejka impresses with final day surge as Stewart Cink claims victory in Hawaii.

At the Mitsubishi Electric Championship on the Champions Tour held at the Hualalai Golf Course in Kaʻūpūlehu on the volcanic Hawaiian island of Hawaii, American Stewart Cink emerged victorious, capturing the trophy. The two German participants, Bernhard Langer and Alex Cejka, finished close to the Top 10 on the leaderboard after three rounds.

Champions Tour: Stewart Cink dominates in Hawaii

Stewart Cink started strong on Thursday with a 66, placing him early among the leaders. Despite a bogey on hole 16 in the second round, he secured an outstanding 63 on Friday, including ten birdies. Finishing with a 64 on the final day, Cink ended the tournament at 23 under par, claiming the top spot on the leaderboard.

Following him was Argentine Ángel Cabrera, who impressed with an eagle in the final round and finished with five birdies and one bogey, shooting a 66. Cabrera surged to third place on the leaderboard by the second day and delivered an excellent 62 on Friday. The 56-year-old from Córdoba province played a flawless front nine with five birdies and an eagle, while on the back nine he had five birdies but two bogeys on holes 11 and 17. Despite finishing three strokes behind leader Stewart Cink, Cabrera secured second place by two strokes over South African Retief Goosen.

Bernhard Langer steadily climbs into the Top 10

Bernhard Langer gradually moved up to the Top 10 during the tournament in Hawaii. He started Thursday in the middle of the pack with a 70. On the second day, Langer recorded seven birdies and one eagle, with only one bogey on hole 15, posting a solid 64 (-8), giving him confidence for the final round. On the last day, Langer made two more places and finished ninth overall at 14 under par with a 68.

Also impressive was German pro golfer of Czech origin, Alex Cejka. He began with a 68 on Thursday and a 70 on Friday, sitting 24th before the final round. On Saturday, the 55-year-old from Marienbad (today in the Czech Republic) surged twelve spots with a 66 and finished the tournament 12 under par in 12th place on the leaderboard.
