At the Mitsubishi Electric Championship on the Champions Tour at Hualalai Golf Course in Kaʻūpūlehu on the Hawaiian volcanic island of Hawaii, American Stewart Cink emerged victorious and took home the trophy. The two German starters, Bernhard Langer and Alex Cejka, moved close to the Top 10 on the leaderboard after three rounds.
Champions Tour: Stewart Cink dominates in Hawaii
Stewart Cink opened on Thursday with a 66 to place himself early among the leaders. Despite a bogey on hole 16 in his second round, he secured an outstanding 63 on Friday with a total of ten birdies. Cink shone on the final day with a 64, finishing at 23 under par to claim the top spot on the leaderboard.
Following him on the leaderboard was Argentine Ángel Cabrera, who even recorded an eagle in the final round but finished with a 66 including five birdies and one bogey. Cabrera became particularly dangerous on the second day, advancing confidently to third place. He posted an impressive 62 on Friday as well. The 56-year-old from Córdoba province played the front nine flawlessly with five birdies and an eagle. On the back nine, he made five more birdies but had two bogeys on holes 11 and 17. Despite being three strokes behind leader Stewart Cink, Cabrera maintained his position securely, finishing two strokes ahead of South African Retief Goosen in second place.

Bernhard Langer steadily worked his way into the Top 10 during the Hawaii tournament. He started on Thursday with a 70 in the middle of the field.
