Bernhard Langer climbs into Top 10, Alex Cejka impresses with strong final round as Stewart Cink wins in Hawaii.

At the Mitsubishi Electric Championship of the Champions Tour held at the Hualalai Golf Course in Kaʻūpūlehu on the Hawaiian volcanic island of Hawaii, American Stewart Cink secured the trophy. The two German participants, Bernhard Langer and Alex Cejka, finished the three rounds close to the Top 10 on the leaderboard.

Champions Tour: Stewart Cink dominates in Hawaii

Stewart Cink started Thursday with a 66, placing himself early among the leaders. Despite a bogey on hole 16 in his second round, he delivered an outstanding 63 on Friday with ten birdies. He closed with a 64 on the final day, finishing a total of 23 under par to take the top spot on the leaderboard.

Following him was Argentine Ángel Cabrera, who impressed with an eagle in the final round and scored a 66 overall with five birdies and one bogey. On the second day, Cabrera rose to third place after a flawless front nine, with five birdies and an eagle, despite two bogeys on holes 11 and 17 on the back nine. He finished three shots behind Cink and secured second place ahead of South African Retief Goosen by two strokes.

Bernhard Langer climbs steadily into Top 10

Bernhard Langer worked his way up the leaderboard during the tournament. Starting with a 70 on Thursday in the midfield, he scored seven birdies and an eagle on the second day with only one bogey on hole 15. His solid 64, eight under par, gave him confidence heading into the final round. Closing with a 68, Langer finished ninth overall at 14 under par.

German-born professional Alex Cejka also moved close to the Top 10. After rounds of 68 and 70 on Thursday and Friday placing him 24th, the 55-year-old from Marienbad (now Czech Republic) surged twelve places up with a 66 on the last day, finishing 12th at twelve under par.
