Marcel Schneider and Marcel Siem delivered strong rounds on Saturday at the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open, entering the final day in top positions.
Isi Gabsa and Celina Sattelkau secured limited playing rights for the 2025 Ladies European Tour season after finishing inside the top 50 at LET Q-School. Gabsa finished T21, narrowly missing out on full status by a single stroke, while Sattelkau ended at T36. Carolin Kauffmann just missed the cut, finishing 51st after a costly bogey on the final hole. The tournament, shortened to 72 holes due to weather, was won by Poland’s Dorota Zalewska at 19-under par.
Gabsa’s Late Surge Falls Just Short
Isi Gabsa delivered her best round of the week on Saturday with a 66, climbing the leaderboard thanks to a string of birdies. She carded three consecutive birdies on holes 5 through 7 and added four more on the back nine. A lone bogey on hole 12 ultimately proved decisive, leaving her one shot shy of the top 20 and full LET status.
Celina Sattelkau played a steady final round, posting two birdies and one bogey to finish at 6-under for the tournament and T36 overall. It marks a step forward for the 24-year-old, who narrowly missed the top 50 last year and competed in a lower category.
Heartbreak for Kauffmann and Others
Carolin Kauffmann appeared poised to secure limited status again for next season, but a bogey on the 18th hole dropped her to 51st place at 4-under. She will now be placed in a lower category for the 2025 season. Sophie Hausmann also came close, finishing T58 at 3-under after a strong final round that included an eagle on hole 10. However, a poor opening round at 3-over kept her out of contention.
