Justin Rose has ruled himself out of the running for the 2027 Ryder Cup captaincy, expressing his desire to compete as a player when the event returns to European soil at Adare Manor in Ireland. The 45-year-old Englishman, who secured three points at Bethpage Black this year, is aiming to make his eighth Ryder Cup appearance as a competitor rather than a captain.

Rose is also targeting the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles and doesn’t want captaincy duties to interrupt his competitive rhythm.
