From driver to putter: We take a look inside Justin Rose’s bag and reveal the clubs that helped him to a record victory at Torrey Pines.
At 45 years old, Englishman Justin Rose dominated the competition at Torrey Pines during the 2026 Farmers Insurance Open on the PGA Tour. Securing his first title of the season with a seven-shot lead and a tournament record of 23 under par, the South African-born player demonstrated a versatile club selection to match his impressive play in Southern California.
Justin Rose’s Driver Choice: Callaway Paradym Ai Smoke
Off the tee, Rose opts for a Callaway driver with a 9° loft — the Paradym Ai Smoke Triple Diamond Max. This high-performance club caters to experienced players seeking maximum control, a compact head design, and low spin, while benefiting from the “Max” construction’s forgiveness. The Ai Smart Face technology, based on real player data, creates multiple sweet spots across the face to stabilize spin and launch angle on off-center hits. Rose achieved a maximum drive distance of 352 yards (about 322 meters) at the Farmers Insurance Open using this driver.
Fairway Woods for Versatile Shots
Complementing his driver, Rose carries a TaylorMade M6 3-wood with a 15° loft. Incorporating Twist-Face technology, it delivers explosive shots from both the turf and the tee. An enhanced Speed Pocket on the sole increases face flexibility, amplifying the trampoline effect for longer, higher shots with less distance loss on mishits. Additionally, Rose includes a TaylorMade QiD4 7-wood with a 21° loft, ideal for mid to long approach shots with a high ball flight to ensure soft landings, especially from the rough. This new model has quickly gained popularity among professional players.
Irons Combining Control and Feel
Depending on course conditions, Rose uses Miura TC-502 4 or 5 utility irons. For his main irons (6-PW), he relies on Miura MC-502 irons. The TC series features tour cavity backs, while the MC models are muscle cavity irons. Muscle-back (blade) irons provide maximum control and a premium feel with compact heads but demand precise strikes. Cavity-back irons offer greater forgiveness, a lower center of gravity, and higher ball flight thanks to a hollowed-out back behind the face.
For wedges, Rose trusts Titleist, either Vokey Design SM10 models with 52° or 56° loft or a Vokey Design WedgeWorks with a 60° loft. His final club is a Scotty Cameron Phantom T-5 Tour Prototype putter, crafted from 303 stainless steel and 6061 aircraft-grade aluminum in a mallet design. Not yet commercially available, Rose has been testing this putter since September 2025. He also plays Titleist Pro V1x golf balls, like many of his tour peers.
