Under Armour Drive Pro Clone: Revolutionary Golf Shoe Innovation Launches February 6

Under Armour’s flagship golf shoe model launches February 6, delivering perfect fit, power, consistency, comfort, and style.

Under Armour revolutionizes golf footwear with new fitting technology

Under Armour opens a new chapter in golf performance shoes with the launch of its Drive Pro Clone. Designed to help golfers move more naturally and play with greater confidence under varying conditions, this shoe tackles a longstanding challenge in golf footwear: traditional designs often struggle to adapt to the natural shape and movement of a golfer’s foot, limiting comfort and ultimately impacting player performance.

Rigid constructions can restrict a shoe’s adaptability during the swing, affecting overall fit and consistency on the course. The Drive Pro Clone offers an adaptive solution that moves with the golfer’s foot, ensuring a personalized fit.

“Conventional golf shoes cause gaps, pressure points, and loss of power as they are based on a single rigid last,” said Jake Haley, Senior Manager for Golf Footwear and Apparel at Under Armour. “With the Drive Pro Clone, we aimed to eliminate these compromises entirely. Every golfer deserves a shoe that adapts to them—not the other way around. This design delivers a truly personalized fit that stays consistent from the first to the last swing.”

Consistent support from the first to the last swing

The innovation centerpiece is Under Armour’s proprietary auxetic Clone upper material, which behaves less like static fabric and more like a dynamic surface. By expanding, contracting, and adapting to the unique geometry of the foot, Clone creates a fit that remains stable throughout an entire round regardless of fatigue, terrain, or conditions.

“Clone adjusts to the shape and movement of your foot to provide the same support from the first to the last swing,” said Kyle Blakely, SVP of Innovation and Design Studio at Under Armour. “Since the material acts more like a dynamic surface than conventional textiles or leather, athletes benefit from a more even fit, improved energy transfer, and a more stable platform throughout the round.”

First tour victories already secured

Combined with Under Armour’s Swing Support System, the Drive Pro Clone delivers more repeatable power and gives golfers greater confidence with every swing. This innovation underscores Under Armour’s commitment to meeting golfers’ needs through material science, precise design, and on-course tested performance.
The new shoe has already been used in multiple international tournaments, contributing to two wins on the DP World Tour: Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen claimed his first victory at the Australian Open in December, and Patrick Reed trusted the Clone’s fit and performance at his recent win at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic.

The Drive Pro Clone is available both in spiked and spikeless models and will hit stores February 6. Recommended retail prices are £160/€200 (with spikes) and £140/€180 (spikeless). The shoe comes in four color variations: Black/Anthracite/Metallic Gold; Distant Grey/Midnight Navy/Metallic Silver; White/White/Metallic Gun Metal; and Stone/Gridiron Brown/Metallic Gun Metal.
