Under Armour Drive Pro Clone: Next-Level Golf Shoe Innovation

Under Armour’s flagship golf shoe launches February 6, offering golfers perfect fit, power, consistency, and exceptional comfort.

Under Armour is opening a new chapter in golf performance footwear with the introduction of its Drive Pro Clone. Designed to help golfers move more naturally and play with greater confidence under varying conditions, this shoe addresses a longstanding challenge in golf shoe design: traditional models often struggle to adapt to the natural shape and movement of a golfer’s foot, limiting comfort and negatively impacting performance.

Rigid constructions can restrict a shoe’s adaptability during the swing, affecting overall fit and consistency on the course. The Drive Pro Clone offers an adaptive solution that moves with the golfer, ensuring a personalized fit.

“Traditional golf shoes cause gaps, pressure points, and power loss because they’re built on a single, rigid shape,” says Jake Haley, Senior Manager of Golf Footwear and Apparel at Under Armour. “With the Drive Pro Clone, we aimed to completely eliminate these compromises. Every golfer deserves a shoe that conforms to them, not the other way around. This design provides athletes with a truly individual fit that remains consistent from the first to the last swing.”

Under Armour revolutionizes golf footwear with adaptive technology

At the heart of this shoe’s innovation is Under Armour’s proprietary auxetic Clone upper, a material that behaves less like static fabric and more like a dynamic surface. By expanding, contracting, and adapting to the unique geometry of the foot, Clone creates an adaptive fit that remains consistent throughout an entire round, regardless of fatigue, terrain, or conditions.

“Clone adapts to the shape and movement of your foot, ensuring you receive the same support from the first swing to the last,” says Kyle Blakely, SVP of Innovation and Design Studio at Under Armour. “Because the material behaves more like a dynamic surface than traditional textiles or leather, athletes benefit from a more even fit, better energy transfer, and a more stable platform throughout the round.”

First tour wins already secured

Combined with Under Armour’s Swing Support System, the Drive Pro Clone delivers more repeatable power and gives golfers confidence with every swing. This innovation in golf footwear underscores Under Armour’s commitment to meeting golfers’ needs through materials science, precise design, and on-course performance testing.
The shoe has already been worn at numerous international tournaments, contributing to two DP World Tour victories: Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen secured his first win at the Australian Open in December, and Patrick Reed trusted the fit and performance of the Clone for his recent Hero Dubai Desert Classic victory.

The new Drive Pro Clone is available both as a spiked and spikeless model and will be available from February 6 at a retail price of £160/€200 (spiked) and £140/€180 (spikeless). The shoe will also come in four colorways: Black/Anthracite/Metallic Gold; Distant Grey/Midnight Navy/Metallic Silver; White/White/Metallic Gun Metal; Stone/Gridiron Brown/Metallic Gun Metal.
