Under Armour Drive Pro Clone: Next-Level Golf Shoe Innovation

Under Armour’s flagship golf shoe launches February 6, delivering perfect fit, power, repeatability, and comfort on the course.

Under Armour Revolutionizes Golf Footwear with New Fit Technology

Under Armour opens a new chapter in golf performance footwear with the Drive Pro Clone, designed to help golfers move more naturally and play with confidence under varying conditions. Traditional golf shoe designs often struggle to match the natural shape and movement of a golfer’s foot, limiting comfort and ultimately impacting performance.

Rigid constructions can restrict a shoe’s adaptability during swings, affecting overall fit and consistency on the course. The Drive Pro Clone offers an adaptive solution that moves with the golfer’s foot, ensuring a personalized fit.

“Traditional golf shoes create gaps, pressure points, and power loss because they’re built on one fixed shape,” says Jake Haley, Senior Manager for Golf Footwear and Apparel at Under Armour. “With the Drive Pro Clone, we aimed to eliminate those compromises entirely. Every golfer deserves a shoe that fits them, not the other way around. This design provides athletes a truly customized fit that stays consistent from the first swing to the last.”

Consistent Support from First to Last Swing

At the heart of this shoe’s innovation is Under Armour’s proprietary auxetic Clone upper, a material that behaves less like static fabric and more like a dynamic surface. It expands, contracts, and adjusts to the unique geometry of the foot, delivering an adaptive fit that remains consistent throughout the round, regardless of fatigue, terrain, or conditions.

“Clone adjusts to your foot’s shape and movement, ensuring the same support from the first to the last swing,” says Kyle Blakely, SVP of Innovation and Design Studio at Under Armour. “Because it behaves more like a dynamic surface than traditional textiles or leather, athletes benefit from a more uniform fit, better energy transfer, and a more stable platform during the entire round.”

Proven Success on Tour Already

Combined with Under Armour’s Swing Support System, the Drive Pro Clone delivers more repeatable power and instills confidence with every swing. This golf shoe innovation highlights Under Armour’s commitment to meeting golfers’ needs through material science, precise design, and on-course tested performance.
The shoe has already been used at multiple international tournaments, contributing to two DP World Tour wins: Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen’s maiden victory at the Australian Open in December and Patrick Reed’s recent triumph at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic, both relying on the Clone’s fit and performance.

The Drive Pro Clone is available in both spiked and spikeless models, launching February 6. Recommended retail prices are £160/€200 with spikes and £140/€180 spikeless, offered in four colorways: Black/Anthracite/Metallic Gold; Distant Grey/Midnight Navy/Metallic Silver; White/White/Metallic Gun Metal; Stone/Gridiron Brown/Metallic Gun Metal.
