Under Armour’s flagship golf shoe launches February 6, offering perfect fit, power, repeatability, comfort, and style.
Under Armour opens a new chapter in golf performance footwear with the introduction of the Drive Pro Clone. Designed to help golfers move more naturally and play with greater confidence under varying conditions, it addresses a long-standing challenge: traditional designs often fail to adapt to the natural shape and motion of a golfer’s foot, limiting comfort and ultimately impacting performance.
Rigid constructions can restrict a shoe’s adaptability during the swing, affecting overall fit and consistency on the course. The Drive Pro Clone offers an adaptive solution that moves with the golfer, providing a personalized fit.
“Traditional golf shoes cause gaps, pressure points, and power loss because they rely on a single, rigid form,” says Jake Haley, Senior Manager for Golf Footwear and Apparel at Under Armour. “With the Drive Pro Clone, we aimed to eliminate these compromises entirely. Every golfer deserves a shoe that adapts to them, not the other way around. This design offers athletes a truly custom fit that stays consistent from the first to the last swing.”
Under Armour revolutionizes golf shoes with adaptive technology
At the core of this shoe’s innovation is Under Armour’s proprietary auxetic Clone upper material, which behaves less like a static fabric and more like a dynamic surface. By expanding, contracting, and adjusting to the foot’s unique geometry, Clone delivers an adaptive fit that remains consistent throughout the round regardless of fatigue, terrain, or conditions.
“Clone conforms to your foot’s shape and movement, ensuring you receive the same support from the first to the last swing,” says Kyle Blakely, SVP of Innovation and Design Studio at Under Armour. “Because the material behaves more like a dynamic surface than conventional textile or leather, athletes benefit from a more uniform fit, improved energy transfer, and a more stable platform throughout the round.”
First Tour wins underline performance
Paired with Under Armour’s Swing Support System, the Drive Pro Clone enhances repeatable power and gives golfers greater confidence with every swing. This shoe innovation underscores Under Armour’s commitment to meeting golfers’ needs through material science, precise design, and on-course tested performance.
The shoe has already been used in numerous international tournaments, contributing to two DP World Tour victories: Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen claimed his first win at the Australian Open in December, and Patrick Reed relied on the fit and performance of the Clone for his recent Hero Dubai Desert Classic victory.
The Drive Pro Clone is available in both spiked and spikeless versions and will be released on February 6. Suggested retail prices are £160/€200 for the spiked and £140/€180 for the spikeless model. The shoe comes in four colorways: Black/Anthracite/Metallic Gold; Distant Grey/Midnight Navy/Metallic Silver; White/White/Metallic Gun Metal; Stone/Gridiron Brown/Metallic Gun Metal.
