Under Armour Drive Pro Clone: Next-Level Golf Shoe Innovation

Under Armour’s flagship golf shoe launches February 6, offering golfers perfect fit, enhanced power, consistency, comfort, and style.

Under Armour is turning a new page in golf performance footwear with the launch of its Drive Pro Clone. Designed to help golfers move more naturally and play with greater confidence under varying conditions, the Drive Pro Clone addresses a long-standing challenge: conventional golf shoes often fail to adapt to the natural shape and movement of the golfer’s foot, limiting comfort and ultimately impacting performance.

Rigid designs can restrict a shoe’s adaptability during the swing, affecting overall fit and consistency on the course. The Drive Pro Clone offers an adaptive solution that responds to the golfer’s movements, ensuring a bespoke fit for the foot.

“Traditional golf shoes cause gaps, pressure points, and power loss because they rely on a single fixed shape,” says Jake Haley, Senior Manager for Golf Footwear and Apparel at Under Armour. “With the Drive Pro Clone, we set out to eliminate these compromises completely. Every golfer deserves a shoe that adapts to them, not the other way around. This design offers athletes a truly personalized fit that stays consistent from the first to the last swing.”

Revolutionizing Golf Footwear with Adaptive Tech

At the heart of this shoe’s innovation is the proprietary auxetic Clone upper material, which behaves less like a static fabric and more like a dynamic surface. By expanding, contracting, and adjusting to the unique geometry of the foot, Clone creates an adaptive fit that remains consistent throughout an entire round, regardless of fatigue, terrain, or conditions.

“Clone conforms to the shape and movement of your foot, ensuring you get the same support from the first through the last swing,” explains Kyle Blakely, SVP of Innovation and Design Studio at Under Armour. “Because the material acts more like a dynamic surface than traditional textiles or leather, athletes benefit from a more uniform fit, better energy transfer, and a more stable platform throughout the round.”

Proven Success on Tour

Combined with Under Armour’s Swing Support System, the Drive Pro Clone delivers more repeatable power and instills greater confidence with every swing. This golf shoe innovation highlights Under Armour’s dedication to meeting golfers’ needs through materials science, precise design, and on-course performance testing.
The shoe has already been worn at numerous international tournaments, contributing to two wins on the DP World Tour: Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen earned his first victory at the Australian Open last December, and Patrick Reed trusted the fit and performance of the Clone during his recent win at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic.

The Drive Pro Clone will be available in both spiked and spikeless models starting February 6, priced at £160/€200 with spikes and £140/€180 spikeless. It comes in four colorways: Black/Anthracite/Metallic Gold; Distant Grey/Midnight Navy/Metallic Silver; White/White/Metallic Gun Metal; and Stone/Gridiron Brown/Metallic Gun Metal.
