Cobra expands the KING family with the new KING and KING MAX irons featuring advanced technology for easier play.
Cobra is extending its KING family with the new KING and KING MAX irons. These modern irons combine innovative technologies to provide higher ball flight, more distance, improved forgiveness, and a more stable feel. From a lower center of gravity to a flexible face and optimized sole – the new models make the game easier, support controlled shots, and offer different options to maximize performance on the green for every player type.
Cobra KING Irons: Game Improvement Through Modern Technology
The new KING and KING MAX irons target mid- and high-handicap players. The focus is on technologies designed to simplify the game: higher launch, increased distance, enhanced forgiveness, and overall greater stability in feel.
Lower Center of Gravity for Higher Ball Flight
A key element of the new irons is a 3D-printed medallion from Cobra’s premium 3DP series. Its delicate lattice structure saves weight and redistributes it within the clubhead, lowering the center of gravity by about two millimeters. This directly affects play: the ball launches higher and lands steeper on the green, improving control, stopping power, and ease in hitting greens.
More Speed with Consistent Feel
Cobra also enhances distance with the 360 Speedshell face that flexes more across the entire face, ensuring consistent ball speeds even on off-center hits. An 80-gram catapult weight housed in a vibration-damping polymer supports this, resulting in more consistent distance and a solid, pleasant feel with balanced sound.
Improved Turf Interaction with New Sole Design
The redesigned Skid Sole features a pre-rounded leading edge with added bounce and a flatter mid-sole, helping the club glide more smoothly through turf. This reduces resistance at impact, improves turf interaction, and supports the clubhead’s low center of gravity.
Two Models Tailored to Different Player Types
The KING iron suits players with higher swing speeds and handicaps around 10 to 20 seeking speed and forgiveness. The larger KING MAX iron offers more offset, weaker lofts, and additional stability on toe or heel strikes, ideal for players wanting higher ball flight, draw bias, and maximum support.
Release and Price
The new Cobra KING irons will be available in European markets starting February 3rd, priced at 999 Euro for a set of six irons with steel or graphite shafts.
