Cobra expands the KING family with the new KING and KING MAX irons featuring advanced technology for an easier playing experience.
Cobra broadens its KING series with the introduction of the new KING and KING MAX irons. These modern irons combine innovative technologies to deliver higher ball flight, greater distance, improved forgiveness, and a more stable strike feel. From a lower center of gravity to a flexible face and an optimized sole, the new models simplify play, support controlled shots, and offer various options to maximize performance for every player type on the green.
Cobra KING Irons: Enhancing Play with Modern Technology
The new KING and KING MAX irons target mid- and high-handicap players. The focus lies on technologies that make the game easier: higher ball launch, more distance, increased forgiveness, and an overall more stable feel.
Lower Center of Gravity for Higher Ball Flight
A key feature of the new irons is a 3D-printed medallion from Cobra’s premium 3DP series. This fine lattice structure saves weight that is redistributed in the clubhead, lowering the center of gravity by about two millimeters. This results in a higher ball launch and steeper descent onto the green, improving control and stopping power and making it easier to hit greens.
More Speed with Consistent Feel
For increased distance, Cobra employs the 360 Speedshell face, which provides more flex across the entire face for consistent ball speeds even on off-center hits. This is assisted by an 80-gram catapult weight suspended in a vibration-dampening polymer, delivering not only more consistent distance but also a solid, pleasant strike feel with balanced sound.
Improved Turf Interaction via New Sole Design
The redesigned Skid Sole includes a pre-ground leading edge with added bounce and a flatter mid-sole, allowing the club to glide smoothly through turf. This reduces resistance at impact, enhances turf contact, and complements the low center of gravity design.
Two Models Catering to Different Player Types
The KING iron suits players with higher swing speeds and handicaps around 10 to 20 seeking maximum speed and forgiveness. The larger KING MAX model features more offset, weaker lofts, and extra stability on toe and heel strikes, ideal for players favoring a high ball flight, draw tendencies, and maximum support.
Release and Pricing
The new Cobra KING irons will launch on February 3rd in Europe, priced at 999 euros for a six-iron set with steel or graphite shafts.
