Titleist Vokey SM11 Wedges: The New Generation That Transforms Short Game Control

Titleist expands its wedge line with the Vokey SM11 series, designed for consistent shot control, varied flight, and a wide range of options.

Titleist launches a new generation of their wedges with the Vokey Design SM11 series. These models are engineered to keep ball contact, flight behavior, and spin consistent across all lofts. All variations within a loft are identically tuned, regardless of sole shape. The new wedges are now available for fittings and will be sold worldwide in golf specialty stores starting February 20.

Titleist Introduces the Vokey Design SM11 Wedges

A key feature of the SM11 line is the wide selection of models. In total, there are 27 combinations of loft, bounce, and grind spread over six sole shapes. New additions include a 44-degree wedge for finer short game options and extra K-Grind variants with adjusted bounce. This range covers a broad spectrum of playing styles and set configurations.

For ball flight consistency, Titleist applies a unified approach in the SM11 wedges. The center of gravity is positioned identically for all sole shapes within a given loft, ensuring flight characteristics remain unchanged if a player switches grind during fitting. The goal is uniform distance and flight control across all models.

Consistent Flight and Enhanced Short Game Performance

The center of gravity shifts gradually across the entire loft range. Lower lofts from 44 to 52 degrees are designed to blend with iron flight behavior. Higher lofts of 58 and 60 degrees feature a slightly lower ball flight. Models with 54 and 56 degrees fall between these ranges, helping each wedge in the set to stand out clearly.

The faces of the SM11 wedges have also been updated. Different groove patterns are used depending on loft. Lower lofts employ grooves optimized for full swings, while higher lofts have grooves designed to aid ball contact on short shots and challenging lies. Groove volume has increased compared to the previous model.

A new surface texture aligned with the swing direction enhances ball-to-face interaction, especially for short shots around the green. The grooves in the contact area are heat-treated to maintain their shape longer. All faces undergo thorough inspection before shipping.

Variety of Options for Every Golfer

The Vokey Design SM11 wedges are offered in lofts ranging from 44 to 60 degrees and are available for both right- and left-handed players. Finish options include Tour Chrome, Nickel, Jet Black, and a Raw Finish available as a custom option. The wedges come equipped with various steel and graphite shafts plus the Titleist Universal 360 grip.
