Cobra KING Irons: Advanced Technology for Easier Golf Play

Cobra expands the KING family with new KING and KING MAX irons featuring advanced technology for an easier playing experience.

Cobra has expanded its KING family with the new KING and KING MAX irons. These modern irons combine innovative technologies to deliver higher ball flight, increased distance, enhanced forgiveness, and a more stable feel. From a lower center of gravity to a flexible face and an optimized sole design, the new models make the game easier, support controlled shots, and offer different options to maximize performance for every type of player on the green.

Cobra KING Irons: Game Improvement through Modern Technology

With the new KING and KING MAX irons, Cobra targets mid- to high-handicap players by focusing on technologies that simplify play: higher launch, more distance, improved forgiveness, and an overall more stable feel.

Lower Center of Gravity for Higher Ball Flight

A key feature of the new irons is a 3D-printed medallion from Cobra’s premium 3DP series. Its intricate lattice structure saves weight that is redistributed within the clubhead, lowering the center of gravity by about two millimeters. This change results in a higher ball launch and steeper descent on the green, enhancing control and stopping power, making it easier to hit greens.

More Speed with Consistent Feel

Regarding distance, Cobra incorporates the 360 SpeedShell face, which offers increased flex across the entire hitting surface, ensuring more consistent ball speeds even on off-center hits. This is supported by an 80-gram catapult weight housed in a vibration-damping polymer. The outcome is not only more consistent distance but also a solid, pleasant feel with balanced sound.

Improved Turf Interaction via New Sole

Another advantage comes from the redesigned Skid Sole. The pre-ground leading edge with additional bounce and a flatter mid-sole allow the club to glide cleaner through the turf, reducing resistance at impact, improving turf contact, and further supporting the low center of gravity in the clubhead.

Two Models for Different Player Types

The KING iron suits players with moderate swing speeds and handicaps around 10 to 20 seeking maximum speed and forgiveness. The KING MAX iron is larger with more offset, weaker lofts, and added stability on heel or toe hits, ideal for players desiring higher ball flight, draw tendencies, and maximum support.

Release and Pricing

The new Cobra KING irons will be available in European markets starting February 3rd. Both models are priced at 999 euros for a set of six irons with steel or graphite shafts.
