Cobra KING Irons: Advanced Technology for Easier Golf Play

Cobra expands the KING family with new KING and KING MAX irons featuring advanced technology for an easier playing experience.

Cobra has expanded its KING family with two new iron models, the KING and KING MAX, designed to offer higher ball flight, more distance, improved forgiveness, and a more stable feel. These irons incorporate cutting-edge features such as a deeper center of gravity, flexible face, and optimized sole, all aimed at making the game easier while allowing for controlled shots and maximum performance tailored to different player types.

Cobra KING Irons: Game Improvement Through Modern Technology

The new KING and KING MAX irons target mid- to high-handicap players, focusing on technologies that simplify the game by delivering higher launch, increased distance, better forgiveness, and overall improved stability in the strike feel.

Deeper Center of Gravity for Higher Launch

A key innovation is a 3D-printed medallion from Cobra’s premium 3DP series, featuring a delicate lattice structure that saves weight and redistributes it within the clubhead. This lowers the center of gravity by approximately two millimeters, resulting in a higher ball launch and a steeper descent, improving control and stopping power on the greens to facilitate better approach shots.

More Speed with Consistent Feel

The 360 Speedshell face technology adds flexibility across the entire clubface, maintaining ball speed even on off-center hits. This is further enhanced by an 80-gram catapult weight embedded in a vibration-damping polymer, which not only ensures consistent distance but also provides a solid, pleasant feel and balanced sound at impact.

Improved Turf Interaction with New Sole Design

The reengineered Skid Sole includes a ground-leading edge with added bounce and a flatter midsole, allowing the club to glide through turf more smoothly, reducing resistance at impact, enhancing turf interaction, and complementing the low center of gravity.

Two Models for Different Player Preferences

The KING iron suits players with higher swing speeds and handicaps around 10 to 20 who seek more speed and forgiveness. The larger KING MAX iron offers more offset, weaker lofts, and added stability on toe or heel strikes, ideal for players desiring high ball flight, draw bias, and maximum support.

Release Date and Price

The new Cobra KING irons will be available in Europe starting February 3rd at a price of 999 euros for a set of six irons with steel or graphite shafts.
