Cobra expands the KING family with new KING and KING MAX irons featuring advanced technology for easier play.
Cobra has expanded its KING family with the new KING and KING MAX irons. These modern irons combine innovative technologies for higher ball flight, more distance, improved forgiveness, and a steadier feel. From a lower center of gravity to a flexible face and optimized sole, the new models make the game easier, support controlled shots, and offer options tailored to different player types for maximum performance on the green.
Cobra KING Irons: Game Improvement with Modern Technology
The new KING and KING MAX irons target mid- and high-handicap players. The focus is on technology that simplifies the game: higher launch, longer distance, better forgiveness, and a more stable feel overall.
Lower Center of Gravity for Higher Ball Flight
A key feature is a 3D-printed medallion from Cobra’s premium 3DP series. Its delicate lattice structure saves weight that is redistributed in the clubhead, lowering the center of gravity by about two millimeters. This directly affects play by delivering higher ball launch and steeper landing on the green, improving control, stopping power, and green-hitting ease.
More Speed with Consistent Feel
For distance performance, Cobra uses the 360 Speedshell face, which flexes more across the entire face for consistent ball speeds—even on off-center hits. This is supported by an 80-gram catapult weight embedded in a vibration-damping polymer. The result is not only more reliable distance but also a solid, pleasant feel with balanced sound.
Improved Turf Interaction with New Sole Design
The redesigned Skid Sole features a pre-ground leading edge with added bounce and a flatter midsole. This design enables smoother turf contact, reduces resistance at impact, enhances ground interaction, and supports the low center of gravity.
Two Models for Different Player Types
The KING iron suits players with slightly higher swing speeds and handicaps around 10 to 20 seeking maximum speed and forgiveness. The larger KING MAX iron offers more offset, weaker lofts, and extra stability on toe or heel strikes, ideal for players wanting higher ball flight, draw tendencies, and maximum support.
Launch and Price
The new Cobra KING irons will be available in European markets starting February 3. The price for a set of six irons with steel or graphite shafts is 999 euros.
