Cobra expands its KING family with the new KING and KING MAX irons featuring advanced technology for an easier playing experience.
Cobra has expanded its KING family with the new KING and KING MAX irons. These modern irons combine innovative technologies for higher ball flight, increased distance, improved forgiveness, and a more stable feel. From a lower center of gravity to a flexible face and an optimized sole, the new models simplify the game, support controlled shots, and offer options tailored to different player types for maximum performance on the green.
Cobra KING Irons: Game Improvement Through Modern Technology
The new KING and KING MAX irons are designed specifically for mid- to high-handicap players. They focus on technologies that make the game easier: higher ball launch, more distance, enhanced forgiveness, and overall improved feel.
Lower Center of Gravity for Higher Ball Flight
A key feature of the new irons is a 3D-printed medallion from Cobra’s premium 3DP series. Its delicate lattice structure allows weight to be saved and redistributed inside the clubhead. This lowers the center of gravity by about two millimeters, resulting in a higher ball launch and steeper descent onto the green, improving control and stopping power.
More Speed with Consistent Feel
For increased distance, Cobra employs a 360 Speedshell face that offers significantly more flex across the entire hitting area, maintaining consistent ball speeds even on off-center hits. This is supported by an 80-gram catapult weight mounted in a vibration-damping polymer, delivering not only more consistent distance but also a solid, pleasant impact feel and balanced sound.
Improved Turf Interaction with New Sole Design
The redesigned skid sole features a pre-ground leading edge with added bounce and a flatter midsole, allowing the club to glide smoothly through the turf. This reduces resistance at impact, enhances turf interaction, and complements the low center of gravity design.
Two Models for Different Players
The KING iron targets players with slightly faster swing speeds and handicaps around 10 to 20 seeking maximum speed and forgiveness. The KING MAX iron is larger, with more offset, weaker lofts, and added stability on toe or heel strikes, making it ideal for players desiring higher ball flight, draw tendencies, and maximum support.
Launch Date and Price
The new Cobra KING irons will be available in Europe starting February 3rd. The retail price for both models is 999 euros for a set of six irons with steel or graphite shafts.
