WITB: Using a new Callaway driver, proven iron setup, and standout putter, Nacho Elvira secured his third DP World Tour title at the Dubai Invitational.
Against a strong field, Nacho Elvira kept his composure to claim his third DP World Tour victory, marking a first with a new club in his bag.
Breakthrough with the New Callaway Quantum Driver
The Spaniard, 38, earned his first win of the year and debut with the new Callaway Quantum Triple Diamond Max Driver featuring 7.5° loft and a Graphite Design Tour AD TX shaft. The new Quantum driver proved its worth right from its initial public use.
Consistency on the Fairway
Elvira relies on the Callaway Parady Ai Smoke Max Fairway Wood, set to 14° with a Fujikura Ventus TR Red shaft, an unchanged setup for two years. His bag also features the Callaway Apex UW 25 utility club equipped with a Graphite Design Tour AD TX shaft, bridging woods and irons seamlessly.
Utility and Compact Iron Setup
A staple in his bag is the 2018 Callaway X Forged UT CF18 Utility Iron with 24° loft, played with a Mitsubishi Chemical Tensei AV Raw White 90 HY TX shaft, mirroring previous tournament-winning setups. His iron set begins at the 5-iron with a Callaway Apex TCB 5-iron, complemented by Callaway Apex MB irons from 6 to 9, all fitted with KBS $-Taper X shafts. For wedges, Elvira’s precise four-wedge setup includes Titleist Vokey Wedgeworks 44°, Vokey SM10 50° and 54°, and Vokey Wedgeworks Proto 58°, with the three lower lofts using KBS $-Taper X shafts and the 58° wedge equipped with a True Temper Dynamic Gold Tour Issue X100 shaft.
WITB: Success with the Putter
Possibly the most distinctive club in his bag is the Odyssey Ai-One Jailbird Mini 1/2 Ball Prototype putter, featuring a bold alignment aid with a black line, white semicircle on the crown, and a two-tone face. After recently switching from another Odyssey model, this putter was key to Elvira leading putting statistics during the decisive days of the tournament and ultimately clinching victory.
