Mizuno announces a new iron. The Pro Fli-Hi features an enlarged face and impressive distance.
Mizuno proudly introduces the latest member of its renowned Mizuno Pro family: the Mizuno Pro Fli-Hi. This tour-tested utility long iron is engineered to deliver higher ball speeds, a higher launch, and refined workability, all within a compact, tour-preferred profile.
Enlarged Face Enhances Distance
At the core of the new Fli-Hi lies Mizuno’s most advanced face construction to date. The Contoured Ellipse CORTECH design increases the effective hitting area by 37%, resulting in higher ball speeds and more consistent performance across the entire face. A multi-thickness face, optimized through detailed Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) analyses, further boosts the maximum COR, enabling explosive distance without sacrificing control.
To optimize launch conditions, Mizuno has precisely positioned 26 grams of tungsten low and far back in the clubhead. This strategic weighting geometry not only raises the maximum trajectory but also adds stability and forgiveness. Combined with Mizuno’s innovative L-Face geometry, a groundbreaking welding technique that increases sole flexibility, the Fli-Hi features a thinner topline that maintains structural strength while generating additional speed at impact.
Focus on Feel
As with all clubs in the Mizuno Pro series, feel is paramount with the Fli-Hi. Mizuno’s Harmonic Impact Technology uses precisely engineered internal ribs to fine-tune vibration frequencies, delivering a solid, tour-validated impact sensation. The acoustic profile has been adapted from previous Fli-Hi models to ensure consistent feedback while incorporating subtle enhancements demanded by tour players.
The Fli-Hi also marks a design milestone as the first Mizuno iron with Nickel Chromoly 4335+ hollow-body technology. The heat-treated face boasts extremely high strength for explosive ball speeds, while the untreated, softer body allows adjustments to loft and lie, enabling tour fitters to precisely tailor performance to individual player preferences.
Visually, the Fli-Hi impresses with a new gun-metal satin finish that emphasizes its technical character while reducing distracting reflections at address. The ball is cleanly framed, giving the impression of a compact, confidence-inspiring clubhead.
Mizuno Pro Fli-Hi: Bridging Irons and Hybrids
The Mizuno Pro Fli-Hi forms the ideal bridge between precise long irons and powerful hybrids. It targets players seeking distance and forgiveness without compromising feel, control, or aesthetics. With its tour-proven shaping and pioneering engineering, the newest Fli-Hi has the potential to become another favorite among Mizuno players.
