TaylorMade Qi4D Driver: Four Models for Versatility and Speed

TaylorMade launches the Qi4D Driver with four models focused on maximum speed and compatibility. Discover the details of the new high-speed driver.

TaylorMade introduces the Qi4D drivers with fresh momentum and speed. Designed for maximum velocity, these new models impress with high aerodynamic efficiency and extensive adjustment options. Four distinct models cater to different playing and swing types.

New Faces and Aerodynamic Refinements

The Qi4D drivers are TaylorMade’s fastest and most adaptable drivers to date. They feature newly developed carbon faces that generate more efficient ball speed compared to titanium, while being more durable and robust. Improved roll radii on the face help reduce variations in spin rate, regardless of whether the ball is struck higher or lower on the face.

An advanced Cut-Through Speed Pocket™, designed using finite element analysis (FEA), increases the flexibility of the lower part of the face. This creates an expanded high-performance zone, stabilizing ball speed across typical impact areas. A corrective face curvature complements these features. Parallelly, the club heads’ aerodynamics have been maximized with finely tuned shapes, smooth transitions, and subtly integrated structures that promote a clean airflow throughout the swing.

TaylorMade Qi4D Drivers: Customization with Shafts and Adjustment Systems

A key feature of the Qi4D series is the high degree of customization. All models are equipped with a 4° loft sleeve that allows adjustments of loft, lie angle, and face angle.

Additionally, specially developed REAX shafts are used. These shafts are designed for three different swing characteristics – Hold, Balance, and Active – and are available in various flex and weight classes. This allows standard shafts to be fine-tuned for different player types.

Model Overview: Four Drivers with Different Focus Areas

Qi4D

The base model features a four-weight system with movable TAS weights (9 g x 2 / 4 g x 2). Depending on positioning, ball speed, stability, forgiveness, and draw or fade tendencies can be influenced. Heavier weights at the front encourage higher ball speeds, while rear placement enhances stability.

Qi4D LS

The Qi4D LS focuses on maximum speed and very low spin. Aerodynamic optimization of the club head shape, achieved via numerical flow simulations, ensures a smooth airflow and clean separation at the club’s back. Two TAS weights (15 g and 4 g) enable precise adjustments of spin and flight path.

Qi4D Max

The Qi4D Max prioritizes forgiveness without sacrificing speed. Use of aluminum reduces weight and provides additional adjustment options. Two movable TAS weights (13 g and 4 g) allow flexible center of gravity shifts between more ball speed or increased stability.

Qi4D Max Lite

The Qi4D Max Lite incorporates the Max model technologies but with a consistently lightweight design. The head, shaft, and grip are the lightest in the series, aimed at golfers looking to increase their clubhead speed deliberately.
