TaylorMade Qi Max and Qi Max HL: Next-Gen Game-Improvement Irons

The new TaylorMade Qi Max and Qi Max HL irons deliver distance, forgiveness, and design in a complete game-improvement package.

TaylorMade introduces the Qi Max and Qi Max HL irons, representing a new generation of game-improvement clubs designed to enhance distance, forgiveness, feel, and sound, while also addressing aesthetic appeal.

TaylorMade Qi Max and Qi Max HL: The Next Generation of Game-Improvement Irons

A key development focus was the clubface. Due to its asymmetrical design with a higher toe than heel, many game-improvement irons tend to deform unevenly at impact, causing additional cut spin and shots to the right when struck towards the toe. The Qi Max and Qi Max HL irons feature a clubface engineered to bend more evenly, resulting in more stable ball launches and straighter ball flights with high ball speed.

Sound, Feel, and Internal Enhancements

Beyond pure performance, feel was a major consideration. Both models include a sound stabilization bar connecting the back bar to the topline, which stabilizes the topline and reduces unwanted noise at impact.

The ECHO damping system material has been moved further up in the clubface, reducing vibrations and providing a solid sound without sacrificing impact feedback. Individually optimized clubfaces and new internal structures further support speed and consistent distance.

Two Models Tailored for Different Players

The Qi Max irons target players seeking distance and forgiveness in a relatively compact head design, featuring thinner toplines, shorter blade lengths, and less offset with a seamless hosel transition. With FLTD CG technology, the center of gravity is positioned low on long irons for higher launch and better stopping control, shifting higher on short irons to aid distance control. From irons 4 to 8, the Speed Pocket maintains ball speed on lower face strikes.

The Qi Max HL irons focus on maximum forgiveness with larger head sizes, taller faces, wider soles, and thicker toplines to boost stability and confidence. Their lofts are 3° weaker than the Qi Max and paired with ultra-light heads, shafts, and grips—ideal for players with slower swing speeds. This combination enhances clubhead speed, launch height, and stopping power.

Fresh Design and Availability

Both iron models showcase a bright, monochrome design inspired by the P-Series. Available as steel versions at €183 per iron and graphite shafts at €200 per iron, pre-orders start January 8, 2026, with retail availability from January 29, 2026.
