Discover the new TaylorMade Qi Max and Qi Max HL irons featuring distance, forgiveness, and sleek design for improved play.
TaylorMade presents the new Qi Max and Qi Max HL irons, a new generation of game-improvement clubs designed to enhance distance, forgiveness, sound, and feel, while also appealing aesthetically to players.
TaylorMade Qi Max and Qi Max HL: Next Generation Game-Improvement Irons
A key development focus was the clubface, which is asymmetrically designed with a higher toe than heel, causing uneven deformation in many game-improvement irons that can add cut spin on toe hits, sending shots right. The Qi Max and Qi Max HL irons feature a clubface engineered to bend more evenly, resulting in more stable ball flights and straighter trajectories with high ball speed.
Sound, Feel, and Internal Enhancements
Beyond performance, sound and feel were crucial. Both models include a sound stabilization bar connecting the back bar to the topline, stabilizing it and reducing unwanted impact noise. Additionally, the ECHO damping material is placed higher in the face to reduce vibrations and produce a solid sound without losing feedback. Optimized faces and new internal structures further support speed and consistent distance.
Two Designs for Different Player Types
The Qi Max irons target players seeking distance and forgiveness in a compact design, featuring thinner toplines, shorter blade lengths, and less offset with a seamless hosel transition. FLTD CG positions the center of gravity low in long irons for high launch and stopping power, shifting higher in short irons for distance control. Speed Pocket technology in irons 4-8 maintains ball speed on low strikes.
The Qi Max HL irons prioritize maximum forgiveness with a larger head profile, higher faces, and thicker soles and toplines to enhance stability and confidence. Lofts are 3° weaker than the Qi Max, combined with ultra-light heads, shafts, and grips to benefit players with slower swing speeds, improving clubhead speed, launch height, and stopping power.
