TaylorMade Qi Max and Qi Max HL: Next-Gen Game-Improvement Irons

The new TaylorMade Qi Max and Qi Max HL irons deliver distance, forgiveness, and design in a complete package.

TaylorMade introduces the new Qi Max and Qi Max HL irons, representing a new generation of game-improvement irons focused on enhanced distance, forgiveness, sound, and feel, while also emphasizing aesthetics and playability.

TaylorMade Qi Max and Qi Max HL: The Next Generation of Game-Improvement Irons

A key development focus was on the clubface. Many game-improvement irons tend to deform unevenly at impact due to their asymmetrical design with a higher toe than heel, causing shots struck near the toe to produce additional cut spin and shots drifting right. The Qi Max and Qi Max HL irons feature a redesigned face that bends more evenly, resulting in more stable ball launches and straighter ball flights with high ball speeds.

Sound, Feel, and Internal Enhancements

Beyond performance, feel was essential. Both models incorporate a sound-stabilizing bar connecting the back to the topline to reduce unwanted noise at impact. Additionally, the ECHO damping system material is positioned higher in the face to reduce vibrations, delivering a solid sound without losing feel feedback. Optimized face designs and new internal structures also enhance speed and consistent distance.

Two Designs for Different Player Types

The Qi Max irons target players seeking distance and forgiveness in a compact design, featuring thinner toplines, shorter blade lengths, and reduced offset where the head transitions seamlessly into the hosel. FLTD CG technology positions the center of gravity low in the long irons for high launch and stopping power, shifting higher in short irons to support distance control. The Speed Pocket in irons 4 through 8 maintains ball speed on low strikes.

The Qi Max HL irons prioritize maximum forgiveness, with larger clubheads, higher faces, and wider soles and toplines to boost stability and confidence. Their lofts are 3° weaker than the Qi Max, combined with ultra-lightweight heads, shafts, and grips ideal for slower swing speeds, effectively improving clubhead speed, launch height, and stopping ability.

New Design and Availability

Both iron models feature a bright, monochrome design inspired by the P-Series. Available in steel at €183 per iron and graphite at €200 per iron, pre-orders start January 8, 2026, with availability from January 29, 2026.
