Titleist Launches Updated Pro V1x Left Dash for Distance and Control

Titleist introduces the Pro V1x Left Dash, designed for those seeking distance and controlled ball flight.

What began in 2018 as a specialized solution for a few long hitters on the PGA Tour has now become an established part of the Titleist ball family: the Pro V1x Left Dash. The model now receives an update, with four years of development invested according to Titleist. The new Pro V1x Left Dash will be globally available starting January 21, 2026. The ball promises increased speed, longer flight, and greater stability through the wind, all validated by players across various professional tours.

Titleist’s New Edition: New Core, New Ball Flight

Inside the new Titleist Pro V1x Left Dash is an enhanced high-gradient dual-core that is more elastic, generating higher ball speed. This is supported by a thicker mantle layer that reduces spin on full shots while a thinner urethane cover provides the necessary feel around the greens. For improved ball flight, Titleist features a new dimple design with 348 tetrahedral dimples aimed at delivering a more consistent and efficient trajectory.

Development with Challenges

The Pro V1x Left Dash traces back to 2018 when it was initially developed as a specialized option for selected tour pros. The ball underwent years of testing and refinement. Early prototypes debuted on the PGA Tour in 2023 but were criticized for excessive spin with short irons. The feedback led Titleist back to the drawing board. The renewed focus returned to what defined the Left Dash originally: low spin, long distance, and a stable, high ball flight. Positioned between the Pro V1 and Pro V1x in the Pro-V1 family, the “Left Dash” name refers to the side marking “–Pro V1x,” which distinguishes it from the other models and has become well-known among fitting experts. Internal fitting data from Titleist shows that the model is already recommended for about six to eight percent of users.
